THE SOUND OF MUSIC FOR YOUR HEALTH
St. Charles Herald-Guide
on August 22, 2001 Slight changes were made
to the original article reflecting a name change of
the system.
Music and other
sounds can be used to balance the mind, body
and spirit. The human body is electrical
in nature and each musical note creates a
vibrational frequency in particular areas of the
body. Music, which can be very
soothing and relaxing, is being used therapeutically
to hasten recovery times and decrease the use of
pain medications in post surgical patients. It is
also being used to treat depression, migraines,
anxiety and much more. Music and sound
therapy can positively improve the heart rate,
brain waves, blood pressure, metabolic rate,
hormone levels, and the immune system, as well
as to release endorphins in the body.
My previous article
on Colorpuncture mentioned the value of using
color to enhance communication between the cells
in the body. Each organ of the body
vibrates at a certain resonance frequency when
in optimal health. Some exciting ways
to experience the benefits of colorpuncture
without even visiting a practitioner is
accomplished through the use of sound therapy.
Modern sound therapists have mapped out
the musical note frequencies and correlated
them to the equivalent frequencies of color.
For example, the color red has the
frequency of 397 and the nearest musical note
"G" resonates at 392.
Therefore, by creating music with this
musical note, the frequency of the color
red is sent to the body.
Peter Mandel,
creator of the Esogetic Colorpuncture system,
teamed up with a well-known German music
therapist to create many musical audio tapes
to balance the body energetically.
They developed tapes to treat headaches and
insomnia, enhance conflict resolution, immune
strengthening and nervous system balancing.
Another series of their tapes has
powerful effects on consciousness and
dreaming and more.
Often rock
music can be disruptive to the energetic
body, however, I have found some current
music which contain exhilirating balancing
frequencies for the body.
A partial list of these songs are
"This I Promise You" by
N'Sync, "Because You Loved
Me" by Celine Dion, "Music
of My Heart" by N'Sync and
Gloria Estefan, "Hero" by
Mariah Carey, "When You Believe"
by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey and
"Let the Music Heal Your Soul"
with N'Sync and others.
Even my young children enjoy listening to
these songs for their balancing effects.
In the ancient healing tradition of
Ayurveda, the body can be balanced by
repeating certain sounds one to three
times on a daily basis to balance the
body. While making these sounds,
you can literally feel them resonating
in the particular areas of the body.
The following sounds can be said
in just a few minutes daily by taking
a deep breath in, then repeating the
sound as long as possible on the out
breath. For the jaw, (TMJ),
migraine and tension headaches, say
the three sounds "YA YOU YAI"
separately for three consecutive
breaths and repeat 3 times. The vowel
series, "A E I O U", is
used one vowel at a time, then repeat
the series three times, for balancing
the whole body. For the
following balancing intentions,
simply repeat the sound 3 times on
each of the three out breaths.
"HUM" is for the lungs,
sinuses and skull. "N"
is for the ears. "MA"
is for the nasal passages, sinuses
and sinus headaches.
"HUH" is for the stomach
including indigestion, heartburn and
abnormal appetite. It is
interesting to experience the results
in the body from performing these
sounds daily, and the cost is just a
little of your time.
Many
talented musicians have created
some exceptional balancing music
for the body. Some artists
create entire CDs with each musical
track sending a particular balancing
color to the body for several
minutes. Some people experience
energetic shifts in their body from
certain cuts of this music.
I utilize several of these CDs in
the
Changing Lives Energetic Balancing
System
work playing in the background during
the sessions. I always like to have
this balancing music on in the CD
player of my computer when doing
work in my office. My
daughters also enjoy listening
to the soft soothing music to
drift off to sleep. As you
can see, music and sound therapy
is another one of those inexpensive
ways to improve our health to reach
our maximum potential in life.
